Rude about innocent mistake by child

Loving persian carpets the entire family wondered into the House of Woven art. Whilst I was looking at carpets, my youngest walked on the carpets an by accident stepped on a laminated yellow paper which she folded. I immediately apologized and took her off. The owner then very rudely commented from behind his counter in a different room that laminating cost money. I walked over and good heartedly offered to pay for a new one. BIG mistake. I was asked to not attack him in his own store and that I should keep my children on a leach. I tried to explain that I was really just trying to apologize and compensate him for the damage. He kept on being rude and stating my children should be tamed. She honestly made a mistake. Never in my life have I been treated so bad by someone in a store. He seriously should reconsider the industry he is in, or clearly put signs that families with children are not welcome. Rude rude rude!!!
