My husband and I have held a joint Edgars account since we opened one in 1978. For many years we had no problems with this account, until last year when we were told to give in our old (grey) cards and 'upgrade' to a thank u card. To date we have completed this upgrading process 3 times at the Brooklyn store. Each time standing for over an hour waiting while the Brooklyn branch staff waited for someone at Edgars HQ to answer their phone. In December we were told the problem (someone read in my husbands ID number wrong) was solved, but today I was told that I had been 'banned' and could not make a purchase and that our account number had been given to a Mrs Venter. After another fruitless hour on the phone I was told my husband must come into the store and re register for the 4th time. Sorry Edgars you are about to loose a customer of over 30 years standing, your accounts personnel are inefficient and rude and neither I nor my husband are willing to stand for another hour trying to sort out your mistakes. The next time you see us in your store it will be to close the account.
