I applied for an account at Edgars Loch Logan- Bloemfontein branch mid-September. It took me 3 trips to the store to submit the same documents because the Head office was calling me saying they were not getting my documents. Finally I got a sms on the 20th of September informing me that the account was approved- and I went to the store to collect the card.
Everything seemed fine and I was given vouchers to spend on my 1st, 2nd and 3rd purchases until I went to the store for my first purchase yesterday (05th October). When I got to the tellers (after spending 2 hours in the store shopping) I was told that the account is blocked and they called the call centre.. I was AGAIN told to send documents again. Really?? Why was I not told this when I collected the card? Why did it have to wait for me to do the shopping and get to the till? That's absolute disregard of a customer.
For the record, I have a clean account records with other service providers (which are all paid up by the way). Despite being a foreign citizen I have never been treated so unfairly like this. After driving up and down for one thing I feel I have suffered enough humiliation with Edgars.
