Unable to access statements

I no longer receive my statements (email or the portal) since June this year. I need to call in yo get the statement emailed each month. I called the call centre but they are unable to help but refer me to yet another call centre and refuse to just transfer me.
I have made multiple payments last few months with the intention of clearing the account but at this point it makes sense to clear and close the account.
