I applied for a Woolworths Store Card about three weeks ago. After being told that it would take two days for the application to be attended to, I phoned them them. This was five days later. When I asked about my application I was met with confusion and incompetence and was told that I would be phoned back. A few days after that, having received NO phone call after giving my correct contact details, I went to the customer service desk and applied again, expressing my dissatisfaction with the service. I was then denied the store card, even though I fitted the criteria and don't have any bad credit history or debt issues. I Head Office to ask why I was denied the store card. I waited three days for a response, which came from a member of the branch in question (NOT Head Office), who was uninformed about the whole situation.

Sure as if they had phoned me or emailed me and explained to me why I do not qualify for a store card, this would have been acceptable. Instead they just avoid the issue. I've been shopping for clothing and food and whatever else at Woolworths for a while now, but I guess I'd rather go to Edgars now. At least they treat their clients like humans.
