Sales person adding unwanted items to the bill

Going to Russels last week, my partner and I were under the impression that purchasing a few household items would be something simple and fast. But to our dismay, we encountered one headache after another. We were assisted by a sales person, Andiswa and picked a fridge, bed and sleeper couch. We submitted all the necessary documents required for a credit purchase and were told we'd receive a call before the end of the day to let us know the status of the application. We later received a call informing us that all was a success and all we had to do was come in in the morning to sign and accept the offer. We were surprised when Ravi, a credit clerk asked us wether the sales person had explained to us how "the extended extended guarantee we had purchased" worked. Upon hearing we knew nothing of it, he referred us back to Andiswa who claimed that the extended guarantee was compulsory for each item when making a purchase from Russels. I could not understand how the 3 extended guarantees, which would exceed an additional R1500 would be compulsory. After taking an entire day to fix that, there were delivery issues.
