Dont park underground there - it is not safe

I understand that Checkers are doing major renovations in Sea Point. If you walk around the shop there is security everywhere... obviously to stop pilfering of their goods by construction workers. So what about the parking. Imagine firstly, my disgust of parking in their underground parking only to be told by builders that I needed to walk out in (in the rain) as there is no way to access the shop but not to worry, they will look after the car (should have been my warning sign).

When I got back to the car after my shopping, I was harassed by builders telling me that they watched my car, implying that I should tip them. I felt threatened and I got into my car before the builders could harass me even more. I fear for the pensioners that have to run the guantlet and get to their cars with the builders harassing them. Checkers should provide their own security in the garage to protect their client from their builders. Dont worry, I wont make the mistake of going to Checkers in Sea Point again. But people should be warned that if they are going to Checkers in Sea Point and they do want to use Checkers parking, be prepared to pay "protection money" to the builders.
