OUTSTANDING DEBT AMOUNT CHANGE WITHIN 4 DAYS?

Hi there, i need some advise please. i've received an email on 20 July notifying me regarding an outstanding account (Jet stores). The balance is R1090.63. This was ten years ago. I became unemployed in 2003, struggled for many years, lost my partner 2009 (4 years ago) having to raise our 2 kids by myself. Now i'm stuck with this. isn't this debt prescribed? Anyway, the email i've received was from a debt collector (VVM) and according to them i'm blacklisted now??? After 10 years for debt that should've been prescribed??? this morning 24 July, i've received another email from VVM, with the balance now being R1116.51??? how is that possible that the balance can change just within 4 days??? i need someone to come in contact with me a.s.a.p. to resolve this mess!!!
