DON'T TOUCH FOR USED CARS!

Purchased a car from Phil Minaar Motors, it broke down within the first week. 140Km into a trip from Bloemfontein to Johannesburg. Leading to a tow being required, cancellation of appointments with the UK embassy for Visas. Timing belt, valves replaced by Phil Minaar Motors. Took over 7 weeks for repairs to be completed. When we got the car back still issues - sent into VW for a report and quote - R50 000.00 repairs required including turbo, gearbox, brakes... according to Consumer protection act can return the vehicle within 6 months. Emailed Dealer no response, submitted complaint to Motor Industry Ombudsman of South Africa, they are not contracted...
Have found a new vehicle for trade-in, with a good deal. However, the car has only been valued at R50 000.00 (we paid R130 000.00). Now we can submit a complaint with NCC but make take months to resolve and we cannot wait we need a vehicle so have no option but to trade in. Which is a BIG loss, I will be continuing the complaint with the NCC further as they should not be allowed to get away with selling cars in this condition, or ignoring clients.
