New ring scratched botches plans for engagement

I would just like to thank the ring re-sizing department who do the ring adjustments for messing up the engagement ring that I purchased for my lady.

I was called yesterday to collect this ring and went out of my way to get things arranged for a big proposal on our 9 month anniversary of dating one another which so coincided with the day that I was call to collect the ring only to find that the ring was scratched on re-sizing so I was unable to take it to propose.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for cocking the perfect opportunity up and can someone please explain where is the quality control before sending back rings, looks like I must make sure all the diamonds on in the ring before I take it as well.
