Frequently wrongly priced products

Shops, Products, Services

We are (or I should say were) daily shoppers at the Simonsrust SPAR branch, but over the past few months we started keeping track of irregularities in pricing. In particular the discrepancies between the shelf price and the price scanned.

Amounts differ from a rand or two to R11-00. For example we purchased brussel sprouts with the apparent shelf price of R12-99, only to pay R19-99 for it. On one day we paid R11-00 more than we should have - and these are just the days we checked.

If this was a once-off issue I would understand - mistakes are made. But at this rate consumers are suffering the consequences and most don't even know it. Most incidents we bring under the attention of staff, but it's just not worth the time and effort to do this every time.

At this stage we'd rather support a shop with more consistent and accurate pricing. Unfortunately we are not the only customers who have experienced this. I've spoken to others and it just seems this has been going on for a long time, yet nothing is being done.

This complaint was sent to Spar client services and the particular branch almost a month ago and no reply was received from either.
