Why not inform me before

So I walk into the store ask to see one of the advertised products cause there is none on show and then when it comes he tries to sell it to me from an open box written there just opened to show a customer then why not just put it on display how do i know it has not been used and then when I mentioned that its suppose to have 3G he said that it was incorrect advertising then surely we should have been told this before he got the product it should be on a poster as we walk into the store that the advertising is incorrect etc... NOT TRY TO SELL it as if its a minor thing. Was just not happy at all with the service that I got. IF you do not have what is advertised tell the consumer so. DO not try to get away with it... JUST WRONG.
