No Refund For Hair Dryer within 6 Months

Bought a Mellerware Hair Dryer Combo on 28-01-2013 and it cuts out within a minute when drying my hair. Returned it last week to Mini Pick and Pay (Secunda) and said I want a refund. They came with a thousand stories, and said they have to send it back to the supplier. The owner said I would hear within 24 hours of them. They phoned me, (I told them I worked shifts) and didn't EVEN have the decency to leave a message on my cell. I went back today, because I worked night shift, and I googled your RETURN POLICY and MELLARWARE (which i couldn't find on the net) and I was rudely told, NO one told them to leave a message and the REP will be there on TUESDAY and they will call me. I said I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER HAIR DRYER, I want a refund and I quote from your policy: "If a customer's goods fail or turn out to be materially defective due to design of manufacturing defect within the FIRST 6 (SIX) months after purchase, Pick n Pay will repair, replace or provide the customer with a REFUND. I was TREATED RUDELY, didn't get time to finish what i wanted to say, and the Owner said he can DO nothing to help me? How do you follow up and NOT leave messages, and not assist with Refunds? It is JUNE?
