Poor Quality Cooker Plates

Hello Peter. My complaint is regard the terrible quality of the deft petty chef cooker plates from the out set of my hob being installed the plates made a crackling sound when in use. I took that sound as a new stove wearing in. After a few months i noticed the plates developing rust and the crackle has become a lot worst. Upon contacting Defy they rep noted that the plates are not covered for rust i did explain i had this issue from the get go but they did not want to hear anything about that they said i should have read my manual and in there it stats i should have put some oil onto the plates before use. I have never heard of such a thing and i have had defy product for many many years. Now i am sitting with a hob which i just purchased which i will most probably will need to replace again which in my mind is such a ripp off.
