Ridiculous Policy

I bought two Bidouw Valley rooibos tea Saturday the 8th which I thought my mother requested and she was actually requesting something else. On Monday the 10th just after 1300 I went to Dis-Chem Somerset to return the items and explained why I had to return the tea and to my dismay I was advised that they do not take back any oral items that is the stores policy. I found this ridiculous as it was contradicting what is written on the back of their till slip. The till slip says medicine and goods of a personal nature many not be returned. This is just a health tea whether it is a medicine that has to be approved by the South african Medical Council. The pharmacist said the reason why they couldn't take it back was because they didn't know in which temperature I stored it under which I find ridiculous as the tea has long shelf life only expiring in 2018. The tea was still in its oriiginal package not tempered with he was just not interested. It upsets me when staff interpret a policy to suit the store so as to discourage customers from returning items. This policy make sence on medication to protect customers but on tea.
