Still waiting for employee numbe

Iv been employed at Edgars on the 3 May 2013 and ever since I've been at home due to waiting for my employee number, I am frustrated as nobody of the store is leting me know what's the process situation which I think is very un profectional and its making me feel that I no longer want to work at th Edgars store due to there lack of communication with there staff members, I tried phoning to talk to one of the managers but they keep saying she's off everyday, I am so fed up and don't know what to do as I am a mother and a wife who must work to sort out my responsibilities but now I have to sit with this huge problem that nobody can help me with, Please phone me or email me details to help me with this matter or I will have to take Legal action against the Employer.
