Soles of shoes disintegrating

I believe (d) - that Froggie is a quality shoe but is it really quality if the soles disintegrate and why must only theconsumer carry the cost of non durable compounds? I bought 2 pairs, a brown&black pair in 2006. I only wear these shoes in the winter. When wearing them this winter the soles of the BLACK shoes started to disintegrate. I requested Froggie to re-sole, but theydid not have the style anymore. NO furhter compensation offered?? Froggie replied: The product that you purchased was manufactured on a sole that is made with a versatile compound called polyurethane which imparts it's durability and reliability and also conforms to the SABS standards. This compound has certain characteristics. It is moulded using a certain amount of air. This enables the product to have the durability of polyurethane but still remain light on the foot. This is an internationally recognized compound that is used by most successful brands worldwide including brands like Hush Puppies and Clarks. Footwear does not come with a lifetime warranty. Products are meant to be worn for a length of time and then discarded for new and more improved products, bearing in mind that with modern technology..etc.
