Shocking response to Panic alarm

So what is the point of having armed response if the dont respond when you activate the Panic button. On the 21st of December i had the unfortunate luck to be confronted by an armed intruder in my home. After carefull consideration for my safety i manage to escape the perpertrators attention and activae the panic button mounted on the wall - this set off the siren which sent the perpertrator fleeing from my home with my keys and cellphone. My neighbour alerted the SA Police who responed within 30seconds and unfortuntaly could find no trace of the fleeing perpertator. 25 mins later the ADT call centre contacted me on my house phone to ask if i had activated the panic button - now what the is the point? if i had been shot then i would not have been able to take the call anyway! after paying an exhorbatant amount of money for the service to be let down when you need it begs the question what am i paying for?
