Don't try ADT security

I reported the alarm fault and I was told to pay R 480 for the technician to attend the problem. My contract with them is totally different. Can someone explain to me as to why must I pay for the alarm fault which is not caused by me? Who does the maintenance for the system? Why was this not explained before I signed the contract? Please give clarify
