I have 2 cars both WITH TRACKER ALERT UNITS Car A is on a 3 year contract whilst Car B is on a rolling month-to-month cash contract
I'm selling Car A If I was buying a new car Tracker would de-install this unit and re-install it into my new vehicle And I would continue with the contract
Since I'm NOT buying another car I called the Tracker call centre (SOLLY THABA) and I asked him to
1. Cancel my Car B contract (this is within my rights and was confirmed that it could be done)
2. Continue using the unit in this car for the remainder of my Car A contract
Tracker employee informed me they can send a technician to de-install my Car A unit and re-install it in Car B But the caveat is I have to pay R730
I protested and puffed as it does not make sense to pay R730 According to Solly Tracker can't do this because of their rules and the Consumer Protection Act... Wow and I thought the CPA was to protect consumer interests
I asked Solly to email me these rules or show me in the CPA Act where all of this is coming from AND AS EXPECTED HE COULD NOT HE JUST TO ME
Therefore the only reasonable conclusion one can deduce is that Tracker is -BENT ON EXTORTING THE CUSTOMER
