DHM MOVING AND STORAGE
UNPROFESSIONAL SERVICES

Scam, Fake

I am reporting DHK Moving for unprofessional conduct, lack of accountability, and serious negligence regarding their moving services. Based on my personal experience, this company should not be allowed to continue operating.

The owner, Mr. Denis Kaye—previously associated with Jack Wellsted and Co—has a reputation for mishandling clients’ belongings. In my case, he initially quoted me for a 20ft container when, in reality, a 40ft container was required. As someone in the international shipping business, he should have known better. This was the first red flag.

For 15 months, my household goods were stored under his care. I later discovered that he had distributed my belongings across multiple storage units without informing me. When I asked if he had a proper inventory, he assured me he did. However, I was soon contacted by an independent storage company, informing me that my possessions were being held under DHK’s name and would not be released due to unpaid fees. Despite Denis Kaye denying this, photos confirmed the items belonged to me. To proceed with shipping, I had to settle the outstanding amount of R10,000 myself.

When my shipment finally arrived in Malta, I was met with clear evidence of pilferage and damage. Every box my husband and I had packed had been tampered with, and several valuable items were stolen. I reported this to DHK, to which Mr. Kaye responded by claiming he would conduct a polygraph test among his staff. There is no proof that this test ever took place. Moreover, when my insurance assessor attempted to interview Mr. Kaye and his manager, Henry, both were conveniently unavailable.

As I continued unpacking, I discovered even more missing items—some of which appeared to have never been shipped at all. When I confronted Mr. Kaye, he initially offered to check his storage units, only to later deny that any of my belongings remained in his possession.

Through further research, I found numerous complaints about Mr. Kaye and DHK Moving, all pointing to a pattern of dishonesty and mismanagement as found on Hellopeter and Africa Complaints. Given this track record, it is clear that this company is unfit to operate. I urge you to investigate DHK Moving and prevent them from causing further distress to unsuspecting customers.

Mr. Kaye advertises expertise in transporting artwork, yet this is completely misleading. Two of our exclusive and expensive art pieces were poorly wrapped and arrived damaged, rendering them worthless. These items held not only significant monetary value but also immense sentimental importance. This further proves the company’s negligence and lack of professionalism.

I urge you to take action against DHK Moving to prevent others from experiencing similar distress and loss.
