Spit hire gone wrong

Hired a spit from konidaris hiring for a function I had on Saturday the 9th November. my fianc? went to fetch the spit on Friday afternoon as they requested for us to do. on Saturday we set up the spit and got everything ready. we then realized the spit burners kept dying. we called the number on the spit braai only to get voicemail constantly, after about an hour of trying we finally got hold of Anna. we explained our situation and then was told to send a picture. after sending a picture and waiting for over an hour we actually got told that its our fault and that the spit was working perfectly fine in the shop!!! not offering help at all! a while later we finally had a gentleman call us to ask us what the problem is, after explaining the problem AGAIN we got asked to send a picture AGAIN!!! by this time it was after 4:30pm and we were having this problem from 1pm!!! we finally sorted it out by our selves! 30min after sending the second picture I got a sms from the gentlemen say "thx take care injoy"I mean seriously??? no offer to help or replace or anything. bad attitude when calling for help in the first place and getting blamed for apparently breaking it. TERRIBLE!
