After meeting with the seller and conveyancer, it has become clear that the agent was not aware of the issues with the property and therefore did not mislead me. The conveyancer contributed just over a third of the costs of the repairs (more than the seller), which I am very happy with. The agent and conveyancer both took the situation very seriously and made sure that the situation was remedied.
