TOTAL RIPP OFF AND UNPROFESIONALISM

I signed a 6 month contract with Rental Pros in February 2013 but ended up leaving on the 01 May 2013 after 2 months I served my notice to leave their premises because the place was very unsafe and unsecure which had several break-ins and house robberys. I was renting the place for R4480 per month which I had prepaid eletricity but the agent and all the people from the company told me that if they do not find a new tenant after I leave then my deposit will not be refunded back to me.
I agreed to that as I understood them because I was told that "it is a breach of contract" now on the 13 June 2013 I get a letter from Michelle Davy (who is apparently the General manager of rental pros) treathening me that they will list me on ITC and Credit Bereau if I do not pay them R1050 which she says its for CLEANING AND PAINTING.
That was never ever stated on the contract and I personally cleaned up the place my self and I did not have much furniture for them to even say I messed up their walls for them to even say the paint costed them R800.
How am I liable for them cleaning and maintaining their place if they did not find anything damaged? After taking my R4480 I stil owe them?
