The customer service from Ethekwini Municipality service centers is shocking. I even wrote a letter to management expressing my dissatisfaction but all that was a waste of my time. All started when asked for my services to be linked into one account. was told can never happen, opened a new acct and they raised another R2000 deposit. complained amount my light bill, was told they are estimating and the following month after my complaint, my bill was doubled. I have since terminated the accounts due to exploitation and It has taken them 5 weeks to refund my deposits yet when the acct is over due it doesn't even take them a week to disconnect. I have been sent back and fourth for my deposits and nobody wants to take ownership and accountability. To my shock, the supervisor is blaming the consultant for giving me a 2 weeks turnaround time & when asked her she tells me about couple of weeks. How ridiculous is that, they have no set turn around time. From 10 o'clock I am awaiting in their office for my cheque to be printed & authorized... how long does it take to do that?

Very disappointed, they abuse us to recover their debt simply because we rely on them for basic services. SHOCKING!
