URGENT DOCS NEEDED --- ZERO SERVICE FOR 31/10/2013

We PAID for an unabridged marriage and unabridged birth certificate
(in order to apply for a British passport for our child as we are travelling on the 16th May to Ibiza)
and after waiting for months we were told 2 weeks ago that there is NO record of our application!!! WE HAVE RECEIPTS!!! HOW can there be no record???

Our application was re-admitted then and we were re-assured it would take 5-10working days
After going in today (23/01/2012) to follow up - E Maphosa was NON COMMITTAL and totally unhelpful telling us that it could take up to 4 months to receive 2 pieces of paper THAT WE HAVE PAID FOR! My husband was shown the complaints telephone.
This dept is not doing its job and by taking money without contributing to service is tantamount to!
I WANT ANSWERS! I WANT MY DOCUMENTS! I WANT COMPLETE REIMBURSEMENT OF MY OVERSEA TRIP SHOULD I HAVE TO CANCEL!!!

How can it take so long to print two pieces of paper that by right are mine? How can we apply for a passport without these documents!?
