I am British and been living in Cape Town since 2008 on a life partner temporary resident permit. I married my South African husband in 2011. My life partner permit was to expire Feb 3013. In November 2012 I went to the Cape Town branch to hand in my application for a new permit. I would like to say I usually dealt with the Bellville branch and their service was always amazing!
Any way! So i submit everything and the lady at the counter has a look through everything and says it all looks fine. I went in Nov 2012 because i have a busy job and cannot take leave over December and Jan is also busy. So my intention was that i'll have everything there with plenty of time and if there is something missing then i will have also plenty of time (Feb 2013) to get anything to Home Affairs if it is missing.
It is now dec 2013 a year after i handed in my application and now have i only received a letter stating what is missing. I ask to speak to the manager and i am assisted by ms. Abrahams, she assures me she will help me and i feel a little more relaxed. Sadly she doesn't reply to any mails or answer her phone!!! I think i am going to have to look at legal action! Any suggestions?
