Municipal Electricity Wastage

For at least the last 2 days, the street lights in my suburb in Newlands have been burning 24 hours a day. This is not the first time that this has occurred. I suspect that if this is happening in the suburb in which I reside, it is probably happening in other suburbs too. Rates on CT property are sky high and rising much faster than inflation! Electricity prices are rising at an astronomical rate and the country does not produce enough electricity to meet demand. This wastage of electricity at the cost of rate payers is unacceptable. The people in charge of this should be held accountable for such wastage. This wastage may only affect the CT rate payers pockets but it is of national concern in terms of supply. Someone should be held accountable and the practise should be stopped immediately.
