Our electricity was disconnected without warning on Thursday, the 5th of September. The Water and Electricity account was up to date, but according to them, the Rates and Taxes was behind. My fault, I agree. On Friday morning I stood in the queue of 75 people and was assisted 2 hours later. One counter was available to people who have paid the complete amount and 4 counters were available for people who wanted to make other arrangements. I was told that connections take 2 to 48 hours. It is now Tuesday, 11h54 and no one knows that my electricity must be connected. I have been phoning 012 358 9999 and not a single person (Customer Care, Complaints, Disconnections, Electricity) according to all of them, has the authority to send out a contractor. Should electricity not be a 24/7 issue? What now?
