Making Driver's Licence Renewals a pleasure!!

My Driver's licence expired in May this year. I put off going to renew it because (a) I don't really drive much and (b) I was dreading setting an entire day aside to be treated with contempt, disdain and inefficiency by a bureaucratic system.

Well, was I wrong?!

Firstly, although there was a queue at the Enquiries desk, the process was managed by a super-efficient, friendly and competent "Public Relations" official, Nashieba. The way she engaged people was amazing, and before I knew it, I was next at the desk. I was greeted by a friendly assistant and handed forms for completion.
No queue at eye-testing either, and the dreaded exam went so quickly because of the professionalism and efficiency of the examiner. It was over before I knew it!

Then to the cashiers... another friendly face! And it was over! This process took me all of 30 minutes.

There was a bit of a glitch with my ID and what could have turned into an unpleasant experience was dealt with by the head of the facility, a Mr. De Villers, who took me to his office, and spoke to me with the greatest respect.

Thank you, Mr. De Villers and team for an amazing service experience!! You put the private sector to shame!
