Unpaid prize money

In october 2013 i received an e mail stating i had won a R 1000 prize for a crossword that i had entered in september 2013, the money was supposed to have been deposited in 1 month and to date i have not received a cent. Upon querying it i was told that they are awaiting cheques to be cleared still.
