My husband and I had our son at Westvile Hospital in Durban in June 2011 and paid a lady called Irene Korff from a company called Baby Registration over R1000 to apply for our son's abridged and unabridged birth certificates. Since then we have not heard a word from her despite leaving her a number of messages on her cell phone and calling the hospital to find out if they'd heard from her. Her phone is now switched off and her inbox is full. From our group of friends alone 5 couples paid for her services, all of whom had their babies at Westville and only one of them got their unabridged birth certificate after hounding her. Unfortunately I have now been told that a number of parents have complained about this woman at Westville Hospital alone. We can now presume that she has 1000's of Rands from parents who have had their babies at Westville alone since 2011, never mind all the other life hospitals in Durban she may have also approached.
