SA Post Office - what a joke of an organisation!

At the end of 2012 parcels were delayed and people inconvenienced because of a strike. There has just been another strike, which means a backlog of enormous proportions. I will have to wait AGAIN for a parcel to be delivered as the backlog must be cleared first. Yet, visit any Post Office and read its mission statement... this company strives [huh? ] to be amongst the "TOP 10 POSTAL SERVICE PROVIDERS IN THE WORLD"! Really... in the world? Excuse me while I roll about on the floor laughing!

But that is typical of government or quasi government institutions... Think up an acronym and print it on baseball caps and hand them out, or write a nice slogan and print it on a t-shirt and hand out to all and sundry, or put up a poster with a nice "mission statement". THAT, in the eyes of this government is VISIBLE GOVERNANCE! THAT is "service delivery". Job done while they pat themselves on the back. What a bunch of jokers!
