Dawn Wing
Bad service and no accountability

Miscellaneous

On 5 November 2013 I sent two paintings, through Dawn Wing Couriers' door-to-door service to France. The paintings were well wrapped with layers of bubble wrap, plus cardboard, brown paper and string. I was told that my customer would receive the paintings within 5 working days. Two and a half weeks later they arrived in France, both badly damaged. One painting's frame had been broken in three places. The other had been cracked and folded and badly dented, the canvas is damaged and beyond repair. I paid R1 564.00 to have these paintings, worth R10 000.00 safely delivered and instead they were damaged and destroyed.

At his own expense my customer has had the broken frame repaired, but the other painting, worth R7 000.00 is beyond repair. I have emailed Dawn Wing many times, with photo's of the damaged paintings, wanting accountability for this damage.By and large I have been ignored. After threatening further action, I had one email promising that it would be looked into and that the international manager would contact me. Weeks later after more emails from me I received a phone call saying that I would be receiving another phone call. I'm still waiting!
