Loxton's Lawnmowers
Took his bad temper at being wrong out on me!

Went into Loxton's today to buy top soil. On their board it clearly stated " R16 for 30dm3. Bought 25 bags. But the bags they loaded were 15dm3. Went inside to say - "hey, you said it would be double this quantity". The youngster behind the till called the manager, Philip. He said the price was wrong. I told him that in terms of the CPA (I'm in the legal side of our business, I know this Act backwards and carry a copy around with me) he had to give me what was advertised. He refused. I quoted the Act. He then said "well, I can say I'm out of stock". I quoted the section of the Act dealing with out of stock issues to him. He then tried to bully me some more and told me just to go to the Commission then. I asked my husband to take a photo of the clearly stated prices and he suddenly relented and told the worker to load the additional 25 bags. And as a parting he said "Do me a favour - don't come back here again". I said to him that as a customer who has spent thousands in that shop over the last 20 years, I was very surprised at his petulant behaviour. He made a mistake, then tried to circumvent the law, then behaved childishly. I will tell EVERYONE about this.
