Trying to be a good citizen I registered for e-toll. I linked my Bakwena e-tag and noted that you only have two payment options on the website. As I do not have a credit card I could not use this method and duly sent an enquiry to advise on how payments could be made. This now follows a request for a R50 activation amount. I received a letter the same day confirming that payments can be made via EFT which I duly did, including an additional amount to top-up the account with. Much to my dismay a week has gone past, my account is still not being activated meaning I am being charged the incorrect tariff and my payment has still not been allocated. Upon calling I was advised that they cannot use my EFT for the activation amount, but I would need to go and pay another R50 at an outlet to have it activated. Despite numerous attempts to reason that this is ridiculous, I have been unable to resolve. I cannot believe that a system can be so stupid that you cannot split a payment to ensure that it is allocated to where ever you want it to go. And then SANRAL asks why people don't want to register and pay - it is because of your incompetence.
