I received a quote from CB Steelworks on 22nd October 2013 to build a boat trailer. I paid a 50% R16 400 deposit on 23rd October 2013 into their bank account.

On 12th November 2013 I visited their premises to discover they had not even bought the material to start building my trailer.

After numerous calls (unanswered) and messages (unanswered) to find out what was happening, I finally received an email from them on 19th November 2013 confirming that they had started building my trailer.

On the 26th of November 2013 I visited their premises again and did not see my trailer being built at all. The owner was not there and I was informed by the staff there that they had not started on my trailer. There was also no material for my trailer in the workshop.

It was obvious I had been to.

I immediately told the owner of the company that I wanted to cancel the transaction and asked him to return my deposit. He confirmed he would do this. After many more calls and requests, he confirmed by email on 1 December they would pay the refund. It is now 7 January 2014 and despite many more ignored requests, I have still not received a refund, which is totally unacceptable.
