My boyfriend has an e-tag for work and I don't drive the toll roads at all since I live 4.3 km from work.

I got a text this morning from Sanral:
"You have overdue e-toll fees in the amount of R843.90 which have been handed ocer for collection to VPC. Call 0800 SANRAL Ref: 1312332457"

I checked my boyfriend's account (since I registered it and might have mistakenly put my cell number on it rather than his), but no, his account is R266.45.

So clearly someone out there has my number on their e-toll account by mistake and I'm getting someone else's letters of demand on my phone.

I phoned their call centre and after being transferred around and kept on hold for 30 minutes or so by call centre agents who keep telling me that I should give my account information and my vehicle details because they "think" they have to check my account, I gave up.

Sue me... I'd love to hear this explanation in court when you try to convince a judge you are summonsing me for not driving the toll road...
