SA Post Office
Over billing on incoming parcel

I'm an South African living in Hong Kong and decided to post Christmas presents to my parents in Port Alfred (Eastern Cape) and to my in laws in cape town. Each box weighed the same, had the exact same gifts, both shipped via air, both marked as Gift, both marked with the value of 250. My mother in law was charged R35 import tax and my mother in port alfred charged R420. When she asked why the charges where so high they said they had the right to charge that amount. Knowing it was a gift she paid. I would live to know why there was difference! Clearly the is no form of standard in post office!!! I will be writing a piece to the local paper and out the ridiculous standards of the post office.
