No SHOW AND POOR CUSTOMER RELATIONS

I contacted Dial a Maid on the 24/1/2013 in order to book a Domestic for the following day.
I was asked "what time could the domestic be at my home" and I replied "8am"
At 9am on the 25th (after not leaving for work and waiting for this domestic to arrive) I contacted the call center and was told that the lady i dealt with was "not in" and would be back and I quote"in an hour, oh no after lunch" and there is nothing she can help me with as she did not make the arrangement and she doesn`t know what arrangement was made.
Firstly i have taken more than an hour off of work in order to wait for this domestic
How can a "company" have no one that can help you because the other person doesnt know what the other one is doing??? and they in the service industry?

Shocking service, one would expect this level of service from a government organisation not a privately owned business trying to make it in these hard times!
