The SABC is demanding money from us without proof

I received a email this morning from the above mentioned supplier. We had received a previous email last year stating that we had not paid tv license for years. We emailed them stating why. We used to have a tv license in JHB but then we had to sell our tv to get money. For 2 years we lived with my aunt. Now they demanding we pay them R4150.00 without showing us any proof of this statement they claim we haven't paid. We would like proof before we pay anything. We don't have permanent work and are struggling to pay our rent. My sister now bought a tv and tv license. How can you help us?
