Exorbitant illegal collection fees by Datnows

In 2008 I was a paralegal student @ Greenmarket College/SA LAWSCHOOL, the diploma I enrolled for, was said to be for 1year, I paid almost 9installments and defaulted in Dec2009, I later found out that my account was handed over to Datnows attorneys, they summoned year in Bellville Court, and was ordered to pay R500 installments, I've been paying R500 eversince last but I was shocked to learn I owe them? R22k excluding legal costs for a course that cost? R9000 which as mentioned above that I paid 9 installments, I've written to the debt collection council, NCR, treasury seeking their intervention on this matter, I believe the collection is charging exorbitant fees above what is stipulated by the debt collect act and therefore I do see my balance going down instead I'm drowning deeper into debt that in my knowldge I should have finished paying by now
