MTN ACCOUNT

4 Years ago I became unemployed and could no longer afford my cellphone account with MTN.Consequently my contract with MTN was cancelled, and I offered to pay the handset and the outstanding account for services rendered. But for the past 3 years MBD Attorneys has beem harassing me, calling me once a year and demand that I pay R20000 which includes their exorbitant, redicilous fees. The more I tell them the matter has prescribed the more they ask for proof that the matter has prescribed. Do not fall for the Psychological warfare used by MBD.If you owe money they must issue summons, but their aim is to trick you into signing an acknowledgement of debt. That way the "own" you and will make you pay for life. Also remember the "in duplum rule" their fees and interest may never exceed the original capital amount. I doubt whether any business would want to use MBD attorneys to collect debt, as in several years they cannot issue a summons. They buy their debt books and then try to trick people in paying their "debt " turning them into debt slaves despite legal considerations. Bring a court application to stop them from harassing you. Also complain at the Law society of the Northern Provinces.
