False Debt Recovery

I have received a very threatning sms from JM Attorneys that read as follows: TRACE ALERT MAY BE PLACED ON YOU AT THE CREDIT BUREAU. JM ATTORNEYS iro Housewares Exclusive acc. Ref 4200305753. An amount of R5, 187.82 due by 31 Jan 2012. I tried to call them and went through to their call centre and a very arrogant and disgusting reception I got from the consultant. When I made enquiries about this account she told me that I took some home stuff in 1998 at a company called Hardware Exclusive House. Surprisingly that year in question I was unemployed and did not qualify to open an account. It is also for a first time that I heard of such a company. This is very strange because my other colleague also received the same sms with the same amount. I am therefore made to beleive that this is a that wants to rip people apart and Why is it targeting black poor people. Another surprising issue is why would that wait for almost 15years to recover their debt if indeed I had an unpaid debt with them.
