Yesterday we booked a room for a colleague from Zurich at the Aviator hotel, which is 3 km from the OR Tambo Airport. On the website, they advertise a free shuttle service from the airport to the hotel. However, the driver of the shuttle insisted that my colleague pay R400.00 for a 3km ride, when it was meant to be free. This is unacceptable and dishonest. Furthermore, to try and call the hotel was a mission in itself as all the numbers listed for the hotel were incorrect! This is really not how we are meant to treat foreigners in out country. He was exploited as he did not know better. I expect that my colleague be fully refunded or this matter will be taken up further!
