Lack of Security

I attended a conference at the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel in Sandton. My Ipad was taken out of a bag inside my laptop bag. I struggled to get somebody from security to respond to the incident, running around from the single security guard posted far away from the conference only to hear the supervisor is busy and I need to go to reception who refers me to a security guard standing at reception who has no idea what to do. Finally getting hold of the supervisor, I am told there is no security cameras in the area and they wont be able to do anything. The person in charge of safety and security arrives later only with the same story and nothing happening afterwards. Later I have to write my own statement without anybody from security counter signing it, a worthless piece of paper. I would expect staff at least to be searched as they are employees. I have not received any feedback on what was done to resolve the issue despite also sending an email.
