Discovery makes me sick!

I am on the Discovery Delta Saver Plan. I needed to go see a specialist about a problem I have been having. I searched for a specialist on the Discovery website and went to him. He then told me that I should get an operation, and got me all the information to get the authorisation.
When I called them, they told me that I should suddenly pay R5000, because the hospital where their doctor on their Delta plan operates and that they insisted I go to are not recognised by the medical aid?! And that after I followed the right procedure to get the right doctor?? (Discovery is SUPPOSED to cover all hospital expenses)
I now have one of two options, they say... Either pay the R5000 - if I use the doctor they force me to go to, or go see someone else at another hospital and still pay R700 consultation fee, for the second time.
Worst is, I worked with an adviser from optimum and he only blames the doctor. Why can't Discovery check that their doctors on their website can actually do the job?
