Poor provision

Staying 70km far from the nearest hospital is challenging. When my son broke his arm on 2012/02/02 at about 17h30 we rushed to get him medical attention without thinking of packing over night bags. Arriving at Medi Clinic we were told my five year old son would have to spend the night.
My frightened little boy wouldnt let me leave his side (obviously I didnt want to leave his side either). After 21h15 I enquired about bedding for myself to spend the night next to my little boy. I was told to wait. A VERY uncomfortable pull out chair was provided. No pillow - these are only for patients I was told by the nurse. A knitted thin blanket was given to me. I told the nurse that if I was not provided with a pillow I would leave my screaming boy in her care forthe night (which was a because I would never leave his side) and I would be booking in at a guesthouse, she would have to manage my boys broken arm (and heart). I was then provided with a pillow. If the medi clinic urges the mother to stay with their children during hospital stays, why do they make our stay as uncomfortable as possible? The couches provided to sleep on are terrible! No toilet paper or soap in my sons bathroom!
