ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENT NOT MAKING EFFORT TO HELP

I am struggling now more than a week for someone to please help me. I have paid a large amount of money in error to the hospital. This was my mistake, but I am human and it was an error on my side. I have spoken to a few people. No one will take the time to help me, so that I can get my money back.
Phoned the hospital many times and they said they can not help me, I need to go through my bank. I go through my bank and they say there is a possibility that I will not receive my money as they need to get authorization from the hospital, and they could not have money in their account etc. It can also take more than 21 days to get help. So it still needs to go through the hospital, but no help. I am so disappointed in the lack of not helping other people. It will be to much trouble to help others! I gave them all the details regarding the payment including the ref number for the payment that went through wrongly!
