What is an emergency?

Fedhealth uses the following as a carrot when they sell their products "Emergency treatment in a casualty ward". Just a word of warning: Clarify the definition of an emergency with Fedhealth. The feedback that I've received is that it must be life threatening. Does Emergency and Life threatning mean the same?
